BD-R Support (Play burned BDR discs)
Updating the BluRay drive firmware to enable support for BD-R disc.
This absolutely should be a feature. There are numerous, legal and legitimate sources for films that are only available on BD-R. If you don't want to allow games on BD-R, I can understand but we should be able to play all legal movies that are available on Blu-ray.
They said they were going to do this a while ago. Still waiting.
Success? I don't understand the comments from PaulNogard and logi980 - for me this still does not work. Trying to play BD-R gives me the error 0x91d7000d.

I have multiple options, but it is crazy I can't use BDRs with my Xbox One.
Thanks Microsoft and Xbox Team for new BluRay update and bd-r/bd-re Support
We cannot play our home movies. Son cannot play movie projects at school and they don't allow USB because of virus protection.
I created a Blu ray disc (BD-R) of my vacation. When I tried to play it on my new XboxOne, I received this error. 0x91d7000d
Apparently the Xbox one does not play "burned Blu rays". I have made numerous discs before and had no problem playing them in my Playstation3, Vizio or Samsung Blu ray players. Disc are made to correct specification, (H.264/MPEG-4 AVC VC-1) I use professional tools to make this. I tried two different manufacturers (Taiyo Yuden BD-R LTH and Ridata BD-R - single side 25GB). The result is always the same error. So now I can't watch my old Blu Ray discs or new ones.
So I decided to go to Microsoft store and seek advice of one of the specialists. I received no answers except that perhaps there is some sort of software issue. No resolution date, not even acknowledgement that this is a problem.
So, I am selling my 2 month old Xbox One (1 TB) and buying a high end Samsung Blu Ray player.
The reason I posted this is to ensure that I am heard, as Microsoft store employee told me to do.
Yep Im totally agree, i cant manage to playback my own discs
This is veryyy annoying ¬¬
Anybody from Microsoft? Any update?
evolve or die, we need BD-R support.
This is a must feature, I hope this can be implemented in the near future
Seriously? Really annoyed by this. Just got our wedding Blurays from our videographer and can't watch them because our uuber Xbox One S can't play burned Blurays?? Not cool. Please fix this Microsoft!!
For those of you whom have just discovered that the Xbox One doesn't play BD-R discs...I feel for ya. It's been limitation for a long time and one of the primary reasons I own a PS3 still. Even worse, the new Xbox One S doesn't support this as well???
The Xbox plays DVD-R. And any files from a hard drive. The "bootleggers" argument is therefore utter bullsh*t.
I would also like this feature to be enabled. I own a 3D HD camcorder, and have built up a number of BD-R discs containing our 3D family home movies.
I cannot play these on either the Xbox One or Xbox One S, yet I can on my aging Panasonic 3D BluRay player.
From my understanding, this is just a BluRay association licensing issue. Please can this be enabled ASAP, as for me the Xbox One is currently not an all in one solution.
As soon as this feature is enabled, I can get rid of my old Panasonic BluRay player.
ladies and gentleman i taught it was time we get the ball rolling on this I started a petition on change.org to get this started or to get the info on why this as not been added to the system. i will leave a link for a the petition with this post share it with other and spread the word. This petition is meant as a stepping stone for mircosoft to here what gamers want.
I specifically purchased the XBOX ONE S to replace my (now sold) Sony PS3 - I author wedding video's and to my HORROR BD-R wont work - Microsoft needs a disclaimer on the BOX - NOT FULLY BLURAY COMPATIBLE - or PLEASE FIX IT NOW - otherwise Sony is getting my money - this is critical for me and clearly been needed for years. Some MS feedback is needed ASAP
