Show a purchased icon when you have actually purchased an item in the Store
Tonight i accidently purchased twice the fatalities for Mortal Kombat X for $6.65 AUD as my net dropped out and there was nothing showing it was actually purchased the 1st time. Gratefully I am receiving a refund but this would be unnecessary if the store had purchased next to it and as people are aware of the no refund policy they would never suggest this or seek a refund meaning you receive an extra 6.65 for no reason.and once purchased if i required to buy another 30 i should be asked 1st same for any DLC or season pass or digital game DL as any thing purchased twice there is a valid reason for such an accident.
[Mod edit: This post was merged with a similar idea from *MMMGT. Thanks, everyone!]
The Xbox Store now shows you whether you own a game, app, or add-on while you browse the store! Instead of the price, your item will display “Owned.”

Don't fall for the Xbox scam, you spend thousands of dollars on their products, games, videos and movies and when things suddenly no longer work (Purchased digital content including TV shows, Music Videos, Movies, etc. no longer work because they have made changes to their UI and if you don't have proof from 14 years back to current date for absolutely every single little thing you have purchased they don't care, refuse to help you and accuse you of never having bought it from their store front. I have spent days trying to resolve my issue and they totally refuse to make my 16 GB of music videos, TV shows and movies to work because I can't pull receipts out of my *** from 10-14 years ago, and yet I have videos I have paid money for even as recently as 2011 and they don't even have ANY records. I say ***. They have records, I found somewhere where I could see purchases for games and add-ons, but low and behold when I try to load the page that shows my video purchases the page will only error out no matter what browser I use to try to view it. Bottom line is they will take your money and tell you to FO because you can't produce receipts from over 10 years ago that should be reflected in your on-line account. If I ever get money to buy a new console I will never ever buy another MS product and I suggest you follow me. I am not a tech novice by any means, My profession has been robotics and computers, I know my way around any tech. , they tell me to just download it over again but it is hard when they don't show any of the video content you download. I have never purchased and digital content from anywhere but the Xbox Store, this is how they treat a disabled vet and a 14 year long Live member. Just the fees for their service for 14 years should get them to help me, let alone the over 500 games and 6 or 7 consoles since the original Xbox came out. I am on a fixed income and a new console is not an option so I guess I will just have to consider I've thrown all my money away supporting Xbox and their consoles. Too bad Bill Gates can't see this but believe me I am copying this post in it's entirety and am going to spread it to every new station, paper and show, as well as the entire Tech community, the gaming community and everywhere else I can find to post this on the internet. You have *** the wrong person over Xbox. I am a disabled vet that was using this as therapy, Looks like PlayStation will get my support from now on, and I hope you look at how much I have spent since 2004 on your consoles, games and add-ons because you will not see that again from me and I will do all I can to inform ALL vets, and the entire tech community on the internet of this farce you run and the fact you refuse to help me. I even asked to speak to supervisors and was totally Ignored. That's how much they care. They don't care about you at all, all they want is your money.
Not for 360 games it doesn't, not to mention it is buggy and doesn't always show owned for Add-ons or games.

This all the way, sometimes i need to be really careful when i'm going through a list of long dlc, luckily they have the "owned" text but still isn't enough, we need something bigger and more visible, but while we're at it... why the hell do they allow you to purchase a copy after you have already bought it? it doesn't make sense, especially in games, there is an option to "Buy a copy" another one, haven't we already paid for it? why is there such an option available? i would suggest removing it.

When browsing through game add-ons in the store, it would really be great to have an indication of which add-ons are already purchased/installed. Currently, all add-ons show no indication of purchased/installed status unless you select the add-on, wait for it to load, then it will tell you if it was already purchased and/or installed, then you have to hit B to back out and now move your selector to the next add-on and select it.

It takes forever for Xbox Store to recognize I purchased a game. It then takes forever to check each of the DLC. Something like Batman: Arkham Knight, which has a lot of DLC, is a complete nightmare. Something needs to be done to speed up the store and adding a purchased icon of various colors would be useful. Gold (you own the game and the season pass), silver (you own the game and some dlc, but there is DLC you don't own), bronze, you own the game only. No icon, do not own.
Anything to make things faster and at a glance. I can't tell you how many times I gave up in frustration when I could have been spending my money...

I bought Killer Instinct Seasons 1 & 2 Ultra Editions, which included all digital content, as soon as they were released. Killer Instinct Season 1 & 2 Complete Collection is now available and I decided to click on the game to read the description and see if they was any bonus content, but I noticed that the game was NOT marked as previously purchased even though it was all the same content and nothing additional was included. My feedback is to read purchase history and marked future bundles as "previously purchased".

very, very very useful
So you don't have to go into each DLC's page to check if you already have it etc.
Its a pain in the [Mod edit: Language removed] when i am trying to find out, if there is a new addon for one of my games. Sometimes you got 30 Add Ons for a game and you can´t remember what addon you already bought.
So please ad a sign in the game overview as well as in the Addon overview of a game so i can see a bought game/addon at first place.
Please add a signal or a notice when in the marketplace for games that you already downloaded. When searching for new dlc that's been released it can be difficult to find the new dlc if the game already has like 20 other pieces of dlc. Just add a symbol like a checkmark or something that when looking at dlc for a game in the marketplace, it shows the ones you already downloaded and the ones you have bought but havn't downloaded and such or a filter when looking at this, because doing this can be a pain and adding this feature would be greatly appreciated in the long run.

I agree with the OP, this should be a given.
It would be extremely helpful if we could see which items (ESPECIALLY add-ons) we've purchased when viewing a list of add-ons. For example, on 360, when you go to a game and view all add-ons, you get a green checkmark in place of the dollar value for any item you've purchased. On Xbox One, we have to open each individual add-on and look for an "installed" or "purchased" note in place of the price. This can become time-consuming and tedious when viewing add-ons for a game like Sunset Overdrive or Arkham Knight, or other games with a Season Pass and/or LOTS of DLC. It leads to a lot of "open, back out, open the next, back out," over and over again, just to find which item you haven't downloaded yet.
Since games on the My Games & Apps screen get a little "controller+" icon to indicate if it has DLC tied to it, could we get the same icon (or just a checkmark) in the store to show what we have purchased without opening each item?

What??? is this true?. I bought the XboxOne 4 days ago, So I did not have idea about this.
In other systems, once you buy a game, DLC, etc, the store change "buy" to "donwload", and also you can see that you already buy the item in the main list
In the, "Add-ons for _______" screen Place a checkmark in the upper right hand corner of the tiles of installed content. When browsing dlc for games with a large number of dlcs (witcher 3, gta, etc...) it can be difficult to remember which have been bought/downloaded, whithout having to open each individual dlc.

Good idea! Why not add a flag (like that used to show a game or app has been updated) to the thumbnail picture for dlc items that have already been purchased and/or downloaded.
I think this should go for "purchased" free DLC. There's a bunch of free Witcher 3 DLC coming out (may the light bless them) and sometimes looking at the tiles I have to click on them to see if I had downloaded them already or not. Some kind of marking on tiles would be great.
Who the hell even buys easy fatalities cmon
Microsoft prob won't do this, they be hopeing you buy it again by mistake, when a bit tired I've done this myself.
I just posted an idea about any item purchased on the store should have an icon or tab coloured over it to show a purchase has been made to said dlc or game. Save a lot of time
