Say "Thank you" to have the Xbox stop listening
The phrase stop listening works, but a more natural extension of voice would be "Thank you". Not that the current command needs to be removed, but here in our household we find ourselves saying "thank you... ugh, stop listening".
Thanks so much. :)
there needs to be some serious security measures taking with news of people systems and account being intruded upon a across platform securtiy app should be offered for all platforms espically the xbox
Not only is it positive, it's functional.

It should be optional but part of a child's account by default, we don't want our kids saying "Daddy, can you get me chips please? Stop listening!" Good idea, you have my vote!
I never know it exist but until i tried my best to look for how i will get money to start up a business and pay my bills, i visited Facebook and some other sites so many times. I saw how people get helped with Blank ATM card from Hacking man called Engineer Michael i was really surprise but i don't really know what to do so i decided to email Engineer Michael i complained to him how i needed money and he reply Yes he is a hacking man of anything, he said he can hack cellphones and Blank ATM and others devices, so I inquired about The Blank ATM Card. I have the faith is real and it will work because i saw many comments talking about his card. He told me Yes and that it is a card programmed for random money withdraws without being noticed and can also be used for free online purchases of any kind. i was amaze. after doing what he ask, 3 days later i received my card from DHL with my pin, i rush to try it on the closest ATM machine close to me, It worked like magic i was so happy. I was able to withdraw up to $6000 immediately. This was unbelievable and the happiest day of my life, So far i have being able to withdraw up to $78000 without any stress of being trace and caught. I don't know why i am posting this here but i care about everyone who need financial help should contact him he is the best and kind, please don't fall in other peoples hands who will take your money and not give you card. you can text him +19733045149 his email address (email@example.com). He can help you too.
I must say, this would be a great thing, but would like it to be an optional thing, and totally agree with madMATINmarsh about encouraging kids to remember their manners.
I think unsnap accomplishes this but that would be nice.
This is a very good idea, much more natural than what we have now and may have the side benefit of encouraging kids to remember their please and thank you.

Would be more natural.

I dislike the Cortana feature.

I especially think this is a good idea as Cortana evolves into a greater virtual intelligence. I find myself wanting Cortana to be as cool as Iron Man's Jarvis. :)
I like this idea!Having to keep saying "stop listening......Xbox stop listening....XBOX STOP LISTENING!" really grinds my gears like when you try to put your transmission into first gear while your still going like 5mph
lol why would I say "thank you" to have it stop listening for a command? Next time someone asks me if I need anything I'll just say "thank you" and then walk away.
Indeed, this or have a way to change the timeout for 'stop listening' - my Xbox One waits too long to know we're done talking to each other.

Great idea to help make things more natural.
Something I've wanted since day one. Same for all iterations of Cortana across Microsoft's products. I find it much more natural to say "Thank you" rather than "Stop listening".
I came here literally to suggest this exact feature, so glad it's here already.

Genius idea sir/miss.
Yes please :) some people are polite, I always feel like saying "Thank you" when it does something I asked.
Also saying "Thanks" or "Please" at the end of a command could be used to take it as a single statement, e.g. "Xbox go to Friends" would keep the console listening for another command written in green on the screen like 'Person 3' or 'Activity alerts' (like it already does) whereas "Xbox go to Friends Thanks/Please" would only open the app and stop listening (similar to "Xbox record that" or "Xbox sign in as ______")
Good idea but this has already been posted, you should vote for it like I did and your vote to the other 3000+ votes it has...
