Select an upcoming TV show in the OneGuide and then five minutes before that show begins have the Xbox turn itself on and go to that channel
I think this would be an incredible feature and I would use it all the time!

It should be smart, if a kinect is attached and doesn't detect anyone in the room then it should record the show vs turning on and the TV with nobody in the room. If it doesn't detect the person that actioned the item then it should provide a question, either through audible question by Cortana and/or popup that ask the user in the room if they would like to change the channel and watch the show. If no then Xbox just record it in background.

Totally agree, would be a great feature to have a reminder for an upcoming tv show while playing. Even entry-level TVs have this feature in their native TV guide so it would be awesome to have it while using the xbox one

Would be great to select a TV show and then have a reminder where we can choose to go to TV or not.

Ideally you'd be able to take advantage of this feature through the SmartGlass app as well as the console OneGuide. This way if you forgot to select a show for your Xbox to auto play and you were out of the house, you could do it right from your phone.
