Stream game audio and video to SmartGlass app
XB1 needs the ability to stream games to SmartGlass. The Controller would still go through XB1. This feature would only be available up to the max range of the XB controller. The idea here would be to have the option to play games and not take up the primary TV.

Stream your Xbox games from the Xbox One to SmartGlass!
I'd like to see a Remote Play feature on ALL devices that support the Smartglass app, where Smartglass acts as both screen and controller - streaming from Xbox One to Smartglass, in the very least, within the confines and range of the player's home network. If Sony is doing it on PS4, there's no reason why Microsoft can't do the same with the Xbox One. If, say, I'm running the Smartglass app on an IPad or Kindle Fire, I would be able to stream my games from my Xbox One ( similar to what Windows 10 proposes to do on PC ) to the device and play them.
I love my Xbox one but it is set up in my room and I just want to play my Xbox out in the living room because my room is to hot and this would help for pepole with family's that haft o share a to so the one with a Xbox can play wile there siblings are watching tv
Remote gameplay would be awesome, a the surface tablets and surface pro have Xbox controller support already! And for devices you could use Bluetooth controllers. Sony has already done this!!
Watch gameplay which is happening on the Xbox through smartglass. For example if a family member/friend is playing a game you like on the Xbox and you can't afford to miss out but you may have to prepare dinner or do a bit of work in another room. You should be able to watch the live footage of your xbox (like twitch) through smartglass.
just like the ps4 and wiiu i want to be able to play my xbox in bed and when im taking a #2 also an accessory to attatch my phone to my controller
Stream games to tablets / phones / laptops for 2nd screen or off-TV play
It would be great if we could recieve and send video'sthe over smart glass ap. This could be a reaction to a goal scored on fifa15 or an incredible sniper shot on bf4. There could be a setting wether you would like to recieve these or not aswell (parental control). also the ability to send and recieve game clips would be great too.
SmartGlass should be able to work as a second screen for playing a game while someone is watching tv or when someone wants to play a game or if someone wants to play a different game
how awesome would it be to play xbox one games streaming to xbox one smart glass app on Windows 10!!?? Some what around the same idea as Sonys streaming there PS4 games to the PS Vita
When your playing a game and you start up smart glass you should be able to see the game your playing live sort of like youtube also so you can flim it cause not everyone has a YouTube account and some games don't have theater mode like Call of duty Avadence warfare
Dear Mr. Phil Spencer and Microsoft XBOX One Team,
PLEASE!!!!... You should definetly develop the option for playing games on Xbox One SmartGlass as a second screen, We want to be able to play our games anywhere thanks to Smartglass, make a major comeback to PS and their VIta.
And if you please hurry with Project Fortaleza or whatever you are planning on AR or VR gaming.
I'm sure you can beat PS Team!
My best Regards
Miguel E. Jijón Hanze
I just saw something that made me mad, it appears that the Ps4 can remotely play games through tablets and phones by simply connecting to the console over wifi and paring the controller to that device, so xbox would it be possible for the Xbox one, not just a second screen any more but as a backup screen, or primarily it's time to move on from second screen, try portable gaming. This would be a killer feature for the xbox one a real step in the right direction fpr next gen. This is the ps4 remote play Video. Youtube.com/watch?v=PWE-20L236I
you really need to take advantage of this... you could really take the xbox from a basic viewer to something a lot more useful and functional. the video recorder from the media center with remote viewing through smart phones and surfaces...
i want to put my laptop or phone screen on my tv via the xbox one. For instance, i could open up a computer application (like google chrome or whatever i feel like) and use the xbox one to put what is on my screen onto whatever screen is connected to the xbox one. This way, i could use my tv as a monitor without having to connect any wires to my xbox or tv.
Make it so smart glass can mimic monitor and be used to interact with it. Also Shareplay should be on Xbox One.
Please add an App or Option which allows us to mirror the TV Screen onto SmartGlass Device...
for example for Videos or My Games and Apps.
So that I can select tiles without looking at TV..
1.I sit on the throne and establish my business and, at the same time I could browse the TV-Programm, Netflix, my apps or my Games¬ inserted music CD without Need to be in same room like TV..
Also skipping Tracks in Audio CD-Player will be possible...
At Moment it is impossible to do such things because we can only swipe with Smartglass and we Need to see the Monitor.....
This would be Multimedia and Multitasking!!
Also a Option like Snap to SmartGlass would be good
I Need to go to the door because it has ringed, but my Girlfriend hates it, so I can watch further on my SmartGlass as Long I am in same Network and my GF Needs not to pause the Movie.
This version of remote play will be better compared to Playstion's remote play and Wii U GamePad, because allowing this in SmartGlass means that you can use any smartphone and any tablet to see stream as long as it haves the SmartGlass app. This Would be Great for My Surface Pro 3 and would definitely better the competition versions of remote play. The only sad part would be that you will be limited to be close to the console, becase of the controller's range, but I can live with that.
Make SmartGlass more fun by adding a game Streaming Functionality to it.I would really love to play Halo master chief collection even when on the GO
play games using your smartphone like tv
this may help to have a different view from a game, for example in fifa you can change your formation and team members directly from smart glass
Please add the ability to stream either TV from our cable/satellite boxes or games to devices with smartglass and smart TVs. PS4 has just announced the PS TV box to allow this. Would be excellent to allow someone to watch TV on a tablet or to be able to play a game in another room without having to move the Xbox!
What about using the smart glass app to allow users to play games on their PC, iPhone, iPad, etc by streaming from their xbox? It would be great as if you are away from home or someone wants to watch something else on TV you could move very easily and start where you left off!
The PS4 can remotely offer gameplay through the vita. So a buddy of mine is playing destiny on the road via his vita. Naturally it seems part of the evolution of the smartglass app to offer such a feature. Look into it. Awesome feature and if limited to windows devices initially another good selling point.
Streaming games with smartglass.
It would be easy to implement using SmartGlass streming games. We could use SmartGlass as control by cell phone and the PC screen with twitch tv to watch. All it takes is the buttons and control the SmartGlass become available in games.
Please, make it where you can stream your Xbox One Gaming to your smartglass app. That way we can play anywhere in our house as long as we have a strong connection. There are already attachable cases to connect your phone to your Xbox One controller so let's get this done and change the future of gaming! Thank you and I hope you take this into consideration.
make a portable gaming device that has "remote play" capabilities like the ps4 does. I also think that you should be able to play your console on another tv in your house without having to move the console.
PS4 style remote play would be fantastic as an extension to Smartglass. Using the XB1 controller's USB port and a regular or micro cable, you could connect up to many different devices on various OS. This would make it even better than the PS4 implementation.
I know there are similar posts to this but I'm adding to them. Microsoft should support remote play through their windows devices and release a tv box to support remote play on other TV's. Microsoft platforms should work better together. I should have an option to receive my windows phone messages on my xbox one and windows pcs. I should be able to play my xbox one games on my windows pc, tablet, or phone with my xbox one controller. Kinda like the vita and now Sony's phones and tablets do with the PS4 and how the wii u supports it on their game pad.
would like to be able to use devices with SmartGlass as screen to play the Xbox one
stream the game's video on SmartGlass as you do for TV
Please see the forum topic here: http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/general_discussion/general_discussion/f/3817/t/1819737.aspx?pi7406=1#4911732
Essentially, this is Xbox One's potential answer to PS4's current remote play feature which allows users to play their PS4 games anywhere they go with the portable PS Vita by streaming it from their home console to their PS Vita via WiFi connection. Xbox should integrate this same concept to allow SmartGlass to stream games from home consoles to portable devices. The portable device only needs to process a live stream of the game while sending back the player's controller input to the home console. Virtually all portable devices already do similar live streams with Skype and Twitch. Please see the forum topic, linked above.
It would be great if we could use our phones as a monitor, and connect the controller via cable to the phone! We could use our Xbox One everywhere with a good internet connection!!!
(similar ideas exist from other ppl here) (please upvote sthat the xbox feedback team see's this idea :D)
With cloud technology such a stated focus - it's time to take advantage of portable gaming without a whole new portable device. Like Onlive XB1 should be able to utilize smartglass to play select titles via your smartphone or tablet. This opens the possibility for a new attachable gamepad like peripheral as well. The portable gaming specific titles are only desired from nintendo. Vita's line-up is not in the category. Core gamers of consoles want this experience without having to spend money for a portable version. Such a service will continue to separate the Xb1 experience from the PS4 as more favorable. In the next 12-24 months there should be a big push for this, as well as the current implementation of smart-glass (i.e what's being offered for the division). There are price-points starting phone/tablet partnerships, that will be beneficial to both Microsoft and the community. Too many ideas to share in one post. feel free to email me @ associated hotmail account for more details :)
With the upcoming update that allows us to stream TV to our tablet, If possible allow us to launch a Xbox One game with the TV app over the top of it (or within the app itself) to allow us to play our games on the tablet.
Stream games from xbox one to surface / laptop or tablet via xbox smart glass so I can enjoy games while my girlfriend watches tv
Playstation offers this with the PS-Vita, so why not offer this via Smartglass? For those who have controllers made for their phones, it could have support for those. Additionally, there could be an adapter to make an Xbox One controller work (basically an USB to iPhone slot), and touch controls. This would be amazing, I would be able to play my Xbox One games in any room of my house, any maybe even when I'm riding in the car!
By letting us use the Smartglass app, we should be able to play xbox one games via the app from the consoles. This should be for like surface or iPad tablets. Either that or letting us use the xbox Smartglass app as a literal controller if we lose our remote!
It's one of the ideas that you play Xbox One games when the TV is turned off into the device that uses the Smartglass. It can be used as a screen to the Xbox or a playable game with touchscreen controls to make the game playable. It will surely beat Sony and Nintendo in the competition.
I´ve rencently purchase a Wii U and it´s great the off-screen option. My dream would be a Xbox One Controller with off-screen option. This way I could play the Xbox One in bed, balcony or when other person is watching TV.
Other way to do this would be implement Xbox One stream to a tablet or phone...
Basically give Smartglass remote access and then make a device that you can clip your phone on to your controller. This would essentially turn xbox into a handheld console while in your home.
The use case I would like to see would seem to me to be the easiest implement from a remote play standpoint. Now that the Xbox One is the center of my living room media universe, I would like to have the ability to stream game video to any SmartGlass device so that I can play a game while others watch TV. The requirement would be to stay within range of the controller to remain connected to the console so that you could stream the game audio through the controller and attached stereo headset. That way, the SmartGlass app is only streaming remote video which should have a minimal amount of latency/lag, certainly less than if you are remoting video, audio, and controls.
Based on the popular feedback on reddit.
It would be awesome if Xbox users could stream and play Xbox games over a Wifi connection or through something similar to any nearby Windows 8 device such as a Surface RT, laptop or even a PC as they all have USB ports for a controller.
Link to reddit post that caught my attention: http://www.reddit.com/r/xboxone/comments/27vkih/if_you_could_would_anyone_stream_their_xbox_one/
Like the Wii U and the PS Vita, allow a game's audio/video that is being played on the xbox one to be streamed to smartglass. Still use the controller, all the processing and such will still be done natively on the console. This way someone could watch tv or do something else with the tv while you continue to play via a tablet or other smartglass device
It would be great if you could stream an Xbox One game to a PC, tablet or smartphone on your WiFi. That way if someone else wants to watch something, another person could still play a game. This would be better than the Wii U since most people already have a PC, tablet or smartphone, and it would be better than Remote Play on the PS4 since you would have more screen options.
1. Stream purchased TV Shows & Movies, Music & Photos over the Internet to Smartglass
Stream Apps from Xbox One to Smartglass.
Stream Game Video & Audio from Xbox One to Smartglass to be able to Play Games in another room when someone else is using the TV, just like what Nintendo are doing.
2. Stream Xbox 360 Games to Xbox One.
Stream PC Games to Xbox One.
Please make it possible to stream games via WiFi to any Smart Glass Device that I can play my Games of the Surface.
Maybe It would also be possible to stream only one half for splitscreen gaming.
I desperately need this. In my house my wife and kids like to use the PC and I have the Xbox One on the same TV screen. When they wanna use the PC, I cant use the Xbox One. If Xbox made something like In-Home streaming like Steam have, this would ROCK!!!
Please can you make this happen MS.
It would be great to use SmartGlass as a way to play any of you're downloaded or disc games while on the move. If it only exists through SmartGlass there would be no need to create a piece of handheld hardware to sit around shelves, instead just create a second SmartGlass app exclusively to run games on and price it anywhere from $10 - $100. With this new idea implemented in SmartGlass any smart phone or tablet can become the ultimate Xbox mobile gaming experience.
Similarly to the Wii U. The Xbox one can stream gameplay to a secondary device while someone else is using the TV that the Xbox is attached to.
The player could even use the Xbox One controller with any device that has USB support.
Perhaps make some of the downloadable arcade style games playable on our portable devices. Make games specifically for our smart glass devises where we can play on the go, unlock achievements, etc.
I should be able to watch my purchased videos anywhere.
Yeah honestly what about even allowing remote viewing of your Xbox one Console on your Xbox 360 or vice versa like a media extender 360's are the PlaystationTV competitors I mean you can get a used 360 for like 70 dollars.
Ain't it coming with Windows X???
I WANT THIS SOOO BAD. I'm jealous of my PS4 buddies that can do this with their tablets/phones/psp...
This needs to be on SmartGlass in general. I already own a tablet, I don't want to have to buy a new one just to be able to play my Xbox when the kids are using the TV. Would love to be able to prop my phone up somewhere and play. Cheapest Surface Pro is £639, it would be cheaper for me to buy a new Xbox One and TV and put it in a different room!
I'd like to see a Remote Play feature on ALL devices that support the Smartglass app, where Smartglass acts as both screen and controller - streaming from Xbox One to Smartglass, in the very least, within the confines and range of the player's home network. I totally agree : if Sony is doing it on PS4, there's no reason why Microsoft can't do the same with the Xbox One. If, say, I'm running the Smartglass app on an IPad or Kindle Fire, I would be able to stream my games from my Xbox One ( similar to what Windows 10 proposes to do on PC ) to the device and play them.
this would be so useful
The simple reason this won't happen is that Xbox uses its own proprietary connection instead of Bluetooth. Even on PC, you either have to use a cord or wireless adapter for Xbox controllers.
This needs to happen

I have both the XB1 and PS4 and let me tell you Remote Play is wayyy overrated...Microsoft take your time to do it right.
Good to see this is finally happening.
this was announced today. a bit disappointing though, as it is not through smartglass. It is only for Windows 10 devices, and only in-home.
Yes! Please, this is such a HUGE feature, way more important then 90% of all past released features. And like another user posted, we need this now, not in a year or two.
Marcio segundo commented
I like! I wanna play the xbox titles viewing it from my tablet or my smartphone, almost video streaming

Add this feature as fast as you can ! We need this feature NOW and not in december 2015 or 2016 !!! WAKE UP REDMOND !!!
PS4 can do this, but limited to Sony tablets. Would be a great feature to have on Xbox One and drive more people to it.
I agree. I have praised ms for all of the speedy updates all year then sony come out with one update and it quashes all the great work u guys have done. You realised an all in one multimedia machine. Just because none forward thinking people moaned a lot (then still didnt buy the system) you changed your idea and have lost your way. It was a mistake to belittle kinect, it was a mistake to only use smartglass for tv streaming when u can already do that off your mobile without the help of the xbox (and to put the thing u have had most criticism over on smartglass is just plain idiotic), oh and announcing it was coming months ago just to let sony pip u to the post! Game streaming to hand hold is a must for u to keep up! Finally this whole only allowing a location if a certain language is selected is also stupid. The wii was enormas last gen without all the graphical prowess so stop trying to play catchup with games and work towards your strong points.
Bhutankam Pema commented
totally agree, same to xbox Video , TV(HDMI IN from SetupBox), Netflix, other Video apps..
or the whole OS Screen with function to navigate via touch wipes on SmarGlass!
I respect Xbox and Xbox Live, I'm just tired of Sony having the technical edge on Microsoft: I have to endure with sub standard 3rd party game graphics etc. Now there's something like remote play? Come on Microsoft.
Ps.. My Kinect is gathering dust.
